1. How is ThousandEyes installed?
Setup starts with a lightweight software or hardware agent (Enterprise Agent) installed at your data centers or offices; on the cloud side, Cisco's pre-deployed global Cloud Agent vantage points are used with no installation needed.
2. What do I need to set up ThousandEyes?
You just need to install an Enterprise Agent (as a virtual machine or hardware appliance) at the locations you want to monitor and allow internet access; using the cloud vantage points requires no extra setup.
3. I've never used ThousandEyes before — what does it do?
ThousandEyes monitors the performance of networks you don't own — the internet, cloud providers, SaaS applications — and shows you exactly where a problem originates, whether on your side or the provider's.
4. How do you help during setup?
We help you decide which vantage points you need, install the Enterprise Agents, and build your first alerts and dashboards.
5. How long does a ThousandEyes setup take?
Cloud-based tests can be set up within minutes; deploying on-premises Enterprise Agents can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days depending on your environment.
